New City Profile til Bording

2012

Bording, Danmark

I have collaborated with Rune Chr. Bach, Transform, and Kristoffer Lindhardt Weiss on a project based on culture as a key driver in Bording as a future welfare town. The project is based on a long-term strategy to ensure coherence, coordination and progress in the endeavour to create a distinctive profile for Bording and highlight the qualities the town has - and will have in the future - through the establishment of an experiential cultural landscape.

In the project, it is crucial that the work is based on real needs expressed by the town's residents. The building blocks for the future city profile are based on the resource of the city's strong volunteer culture and anchoring in existing institutions such as the school - in close connection with an ambition and targeted effort to become an attractive and competitive settlement city with high-quality recreational and cultural offers.

The project process

Based on workshops and focus group interviews, we have compiled a rough list of wishes for meeting places, activities and facilities. Many of the wishes and suggestions now form the background and local anchoring for the project to varying degrees.

Bording is being developed on the basis of the LOCAL
and is infused with new energy and resources through the REGIONAL.
The qualities and characteristics of the area are created with the LANDSCAPE.
